Meaning Of Life

We all, from time to time, wonder about our purpose here on earth, and question what is .
and if there is a standard we are all measured against: the meaning in our lives. Are we to live good and decent lives, abiding by the laws of our religion, or our government. If there is a god should we follow him blindly and betray what we have learned to be true through our own intuition. For me, to believe that there is a higher meaning in life other than to strictly procreate, I must believe there is a god. And that is something I can neither prove nor disprove, though while I grow and learn more of the world around me, I find it harder to believe that there is anything tending the light at the end of our tunnels. .

I find it strangely hypocritical that we laugh at ancient cultures and how they would worship more than one god. When we as well worship a god we have never seen or heard from. .
I want to talk about what is real, what we know, because in matters of god human emotion takes precedent. We believe there is a god because we are afraid of our own mortality, not because god has come here to earth and handed us The Bible. I want to believe there is a god, it's comforting to know that for the sacrifices and hardships faced in this life that their will be an eternal state of grace for all those who follow his word. Believing this makes life tolerable, it keeps us from righting many of the wrongs that occur in this the only world that matters. .
Plato believes that we live in a world of shadows, that our senses are not to be trusted, instead we should trust our minds. He believes that we must break free from the limitations of our senses. I do not feel that this is right. Plato lived in a much different world than we do today; he never knew what we knew. I say that we must trust our senses, in this way I agree with Aristotle. There is only what is real, there is no more. I cannot force myself to believe that something could have created this all.
