Television's Impact On Children


            
             Hundreds of arguments can be made on the topic that television is playing .
             Surely, television is not a bad thing, but nobody can .
             deny that it has negative effects too. However, it seems that it is much easier to .
             understand television's impact on children than understand it"s impact on the .
             society in general. That's mostly because of the child's simplicity that allows us to .
             see almost clearly what impact television makes on every single child. Does the .
             television have more positive or more negative influence on children is very .
             questionable and variously considered by different people, but it is for sure that one .
             of those two impacts is at least slightly stronger and more effective then the other .
             one. And which one is that, is something I am going to discuss in this essay.
             Nowadays television is like a member family in most families. Children .
             learn from television, they discover new things on it everyday, it answers and explains their .
             questions, it entertains them, in one word, they find everything they want on TV and it makes .
             their lives complete because to a child TV sometimes can be a substitute for almost everything. There is no doubt that television can be very useful, educative, entertaining and informative. But .
             sometimes it can be dangerous. Very often children lose control of their viewing and their .
             parents have no time to identify whether a particular program makes sense for their son or .
             daughter or can bring harm. .
             Television can affect the way a child acts, thinks and feels about different .
             issues such as violence, education and morality, gender and racial stereotypes. TV .
             glorifies violence and weapons, and teaches children that the easiest way of .
             resolving problems is through violence. By every day, television's programs are .
             becoming more and more violent and contain more sexual content, mainly because .
             it seems to draw larger audience. And larger audience brings networks more .
