America Takes A Stand

The colonists showed their freeness many ways. One particular way was participating in a distinguished group called the Freemasons.[2] .
             In the time of the revolution the Freemasons were privileged to maintain upstanding colonial members including well-known Benjamin Franklin and George Washington. Because of these men's activeness in the organization, the group became thought to be a colonial example of independence from Great Britain during the time of the American Revolution. Bernard Fay introduced this group during the time of the revolution to the French and American colonists for the purpose of being the, "instigator of the intellectual revolution- and "the spiritual father of its political revolutions." These men were showing another first stands to freedom and liberty for the future complete nation. The Freemason's thought on goals during the revolution was to come together in a brotherhood community and form leaders for their country and what all they believed in for freedom patriotically. [3].
             I believe that this group gave colonists great courage and self confidence in themselves and they realized that they were very capable of forming their own government and society as to their liking. They saw that their location was far from Great Britain. They became conscious of the fact that there was no point in having the British government to keep them afloat from a far off distance. Not only were they still trying to break away from Britain, as they were in initially, but were also ready and capable of forming their own central government system. .
             When the taxations from Britain started soiling their somewhat free domain, they become conscious that they were never truly as free as they honestly thought they were, even though they were seas apart. After having the taste of freedom, which they had formed in the colonies, they knew they wanted more of this free living and decision makings and did not want to have anything to do with the British government policy, including the various taxation laws they were being put upon.
