After several years, though, they learn t dread it. Children all look for any excuse to miss even a day of school. .
It's not that they don't want to learn. It's obvious that young children are very anxious to learn. People from infancy through early childhood are the best and most anxious learners. This is mostly because young children have the strongest need to learn. They can't communicate very well with other people until they learn to speak their language. So, they just learn it. No one has to teach it to them, either. They learn whatever languages are being spoken around them, effortlessly. .
In the first few years of school, children learn pretty easily, too. They"re taught basic arithmetic and how to read. These are skills that they need and crave. I think that they"d probably learn them on their own even if it wasn't for school. I knew all that stuff before I started school. They start to dread school as the things they"re learning in school become less interesting. They will learn the things that they need to know no matter what. Then they will learn the things they want to know.
I remember throughout middle school and high school especially that teachers had us memorize lists of facts. We memorized them, passed the tests, and promptly forgot them. I remember things that I've learned out of interest, though. The school system is pretty much pointless as far as teaching goes. .
A person graduating high school or even college has no more real knowledge than a sixth grader. Knowing the state capitals doesn't help anyone with what they need to succeed in the world. These people aren't learning job skills. Obviously, some of the schooling that people go through helps them with their jobs, like medical school. But they have to go through so much just to get to that point that many people who maybe wish to be doctors aren't, because they don't want to bother with all the extra work it requires.
