             The unified nature of an ERP system lends itself to significant benefits over older computing systems. Some of these include fewer errors, improved speed and efficiency, and more complete access to information. By having quicker and better access to information employees and managers alike can gain a better understanding of what is going on in the enterprise so they make better business decisions.
             Another major benefit associated with ERP systems is exceptional efficiency. Prior to the onset of ERP systems, companies stored important business records within many different departments. Each department often used different systems and techniques to manage that information. Information might also be duplicated many times within an organization without it even being up-to-date. Once this material is properly identified as out-dated, the process will begin to correct that information throughout the entire company. These types of informational mishaps slow the whole organization down and cost a tremendous amount of money. Companies with ERP systems in place minimize these costs by using less paper, making fewer phone calls, and spending less time tracking information down.
