Henry Ford

Let me make this point early on in the paper. Henry Ford may or may not have been a great man. I am not going to argue that in this paper. I will show proof that Henry Ford was a great businessman, and a great thinker. .
Henry was born in 1863. His father was a farmer, so Henry grew up on the farm, but was not interested in making it a career. Henry had an inspiration when he was young. At the age of twelve, he saw a road engine. That is what made his mind veer toward creating something that made less work. He was never thrilled about farming because of the physical labor involved. Shortly after seeing the road engine, Henry received a watch. When the watch broke, Henry took it apart and fixed it numerous times. That led to Henry working part-time as a watch repairman. He made his own tools and learned by himself. .
He also worked for the Detroit Electric Company when he left the farm. He did quite well, but did not have enough spare time to work on his dream. He started in a small building working by himself. It is amazing that he built that up to thousands of employees, and millions of cars produced in such a short time. Even more amazing, he reduced the price of the cars over that same time span. He was very clear on that point. When production increased in ways that saved the company money, he passed that savings on to the customers, and his employees. Henry did a lot of things that are impressive. This one stands out to me. The other automobile manufacturers were totally against the lowering of prices. They saw that as profits being given away. Henry Ford's mission in life was not to make a lot of money. He wanted to create more jobs, giving his employees a better life. He provided health care to his employees. He also monitored his employees living habits. He created incentives for his employees to live in a clutter-free manner. When they proved that, their wage increased.
