Bussiness Aspect of Benjamin Franklin


             Franklin's life demonstrates that he did not allow certain things become an obstacle on his way to success: Although he was born a rather ordinary child to rather ordinary parents, he achieved a measure of success in his life through hard work. Franklin was born in 1706, the youngest son of Josiah Franklin, a soap and candle maker. At age of 12, he was apprenticed into the printing trade under his older brother James. Franklin did not like and enjoy his brother's supervision, and left to work for a printer in Philadelphia after a few years. .
             On the other hand, he continued his electricity experiments resulted in discovering lightening rod. He became an ardent Revolutionary and helped to finance activities of the Continental Congress. He served the war effort as ambassador to France. Franklin, then returned to Philadelphia, served as a delegate, negotiated compromise among the warring state factions. His last public act was that he advocated the abolition of slavery.
             In Philadelphia, he set up his own printing house and expanded his business interests by establishing silent partnerships with printing houses throughout the American colonies. Thereafter, he started manufacturing ink and paper supply. Also he served as a creditor for some of his partners. When Franklin retired from his printing business in 1748, he was regarded as the leader in the American printing trade.
             He also fought a battle at the institutional level. Revolution took its place when Franklin returned to the American colonies from England. He reviewed drafts of the Declaration of Independence written by Thomas Jefferson. .
             Franklin is known about his willingness to experiment; primarily because of his electricity experiments involved flying a kite during lightning. During Franklin's lifetime, there was a great deal of misinformation about the nature of lightning. Franklin conducted a variety of experiments resulted in the invention of the lightning rod and saved many buildings from fire.
