In this age of 2003, technology has advanced so far from the 8-bit Atari or the Genesis Nomad.2001) Yes, just about 27 years ago, arcade games like Poag, Centipende, and Mr. Pac-man were being played by our parents I can remember this grey box with the red word Nintendo on it. I played almost every game that came out on it. Playing that machine brings back a lot of childhood memories for me.Now Nintendo is only one of the three hottest game consoles out there. The other two are a company just use to make televisions and stereos but they tried their hand at it and are now cashing in on their risky move. Sony is now a big corporation. Last but not least is the newcomer to the group , Microsoft , which is famous for it's computer programs , but it's now entering a whole new world. So, the three game consoles are Nintendo's Game Cube, Sony PlayStation 2 and Microsoft's X-box.

Nintendo came on the science about 1985 with the first 8-bit system. It amazed the world that a little grey box could let people play a game and escape to another world (videogames.com). Nintendo's Game Cube is more of a family-type system you have games like Lugi's Mansion , Pikmin, and Super Smash Brothers where it's more of a little kids systems good for all ages groups . I would give it 3 out of 5 stars .

Microsoft's X-box is new to the videogame world. Knowing little about this console I referred to Gregory Fletcher, a Computer Science/Engineering major at TSU. Fletcher says that "the X-box is made to be the new standard for game consoles in the new millennium. The design team at Microsoft wanted to make a game console that would satisfy the needs of gamers today. The X-box holds a lot of memory, it plays music and CDs. With all those features it's just at the mark of $299.00 this system has many hockey, football, and adventure games(X-box.com). I would give it 4 out 5 stars.

Sony's Play Station 2 is the most advanced of the three.
