What it Means to be an American

 

            Being an American is having the freedom or the power to do, say, or think as one pleases. There are many different kinds of freedom, such as freedom of speech, freedom of the press, freedom of religion, and political freedom. Every American is given the freedom to speak or express their views freely, the freedom to be able to write, the freedom to print, the freedom to publish information, the freedom to worship their own religion, and the freedom to take a stand on political issues. America is the land of opportunity, and freedom no matter what sex or race you are. .
             In today's world, Americans are given the chance for equal opportunity. The conflict between a female and a male applying for the same job appears to be less of a factor in the decision process. Now the main factor in the decision process seems to be what level of education you have had.
             In conclusion, the opportunity is given to you to chose the path you would like to take for your future based on the freedoms we are given. You can take your opportunities and make something out of them. You are given the opportunity to go on to college, if you chose to your giving yourself a greater chance to succeed in the real world.
