Personal Goals

 

            
             Many people believe that the success depends on the family background that you have. There are those who say that if the person was raised in a rich family, all opportunities are available to them and there is a high chance that the person will live a comfortable life. Some think that if the person was raised in a poor family there are too many obstacles to overcome and most of the time these barriers are too hard to cross. On the other hand, there are those people who say that any person could achieve his/her goals if they set their mind to it.
             I firmly believe that everything is possible in life as long as you set goals and action plans to achieve them. Some are easier to reach than other but at the end of the road it is all worthwhile.
             A good example I had as a child was my mother. I was raised an only child with a single parent. Between having to raise me and working full time my mother managed to obtain her degree. We lived in the United States and had no relatives for support. She was and continues to be an excellent role model. She taught me that in order to achieve goals in life you must sometime sacrifice yourself. .
             Once I was old enough I often accompanied her to work. At the office I helped out in the switchboard, filing and other tasks. This helped me to develop a strong sense of responsibility. You could say I pretty much followed her steps. I began part-time and around the age of fifteen I was assistant for the president of the company worked for. I had no degree just working experience. In today's competitive world it is becoming much harder to earn promotions and switch to better jobs; in order to get a great job opportunity the first thing you are asked for is your educational background.
             One of the things I promised myself when I was in high school was to get a college education one-day. Well, I'm finally here and believe me it is and will remain among my number one priorities.
