From week one and week two, it helped me to give the correct meaning and understanding about the schools mission and vision. The mission of MCL is to provide advance and excellence in teaching; to establish values to the students that will make everyone to act with integrity, objectivity, and humanity; and to provide students that will make an outstanding service to the society after graduate, that will help the industry and society to solve problems by the effective application of knowledge. The vision of MCL is that, students will graduate with high- quality education and globally competitive skills. I have also learned about the core values, such as, discipline, service excellence, sense of urgency, loyalty, team work. I realized that discipline is the most important core value that an individual should possess. It reflects that you have the knowledge and values if you are a disciplined person. Discipline able to teach people to be responsible and respectful. It helps people to train our character and mind to be able to possess and build self- control. And being disciplined is equivalent to being professional and that is a step closer to success. Sir Depatillo helped us to realize that the path towards excellence and virtues is a lifes journey. And it is the beginning through discovering own potentials and skills, as well as identifying the roles and responsibilities in the community. It also involves our relation with our family, friends, classmates, professors, and, of course, with God.
From week three, I have learned the proper way of handling stress from the CGC visit. We had an introduction about the different types of stress, like stress from school (homeworks, seatworks, quizzes, and exams), relationship with family, friends, and classmates, and the stress in the community, like, traffic, heavy rain, etc. It also helped us to deal with stress intelligently and it give us ideas of how to overcome these kinds of stressors.
