            Google was founded in September 4th, 1998 by Larry Page and Sergey Brin. Google is an internet search engine technology provider and today its innovative search technologies connect millions of people around the world with information everyday. Google today is far more than an engine search website; it has grown to be a large collection of products and services. The company name "Google" is a result of the misspelled word "Googol," a mathematical term for a 1 followed by 100 zeros. "Google's mission is to organize the world's information and make it universally accessible and useful." Google's innovative search technologies connect millions of people around the world and information everyday. In 2000, Google Inc., being the award-winning Google search engine, introduced its billion-page index that led to 28 million search inquiries per day, officially making them the world's largest engine search. The company also launched a flurry of products that expanded its domain beyond web search. These included Gmail, Google Maps, Google Books, Google Finance, Google Docs, and Google Calendar. Google also provided web searches for 15 languages, gaining international acclaim for its web search services. .
             In October 2000, Google announced their self-service advertising program. The new program Adwords enables advertisers to purchase individualized and affordable keyword advertising that appears instantly on the google.com search result page. The Adwords link provides all the necessary design and reporting tools to allow advertisers to get an online advertising campaign directly from the Google website. AdWords offers pay-per-click, known as cost-per-click advertising. An advertiser only pays when a user actually clicks on the advertising listing. In March 2003, Google expanded search advertising by launching a new product named AdSense. Google also maintains advertising on thousands of third party web sites using the Google Network and Google Adsense.
