Students Solving Urban Pollution Problems

Humans are responsible for a variety of environmental problems, but we can also take steps to reduce the damage that we are causing not only to our city but also to the planet. Today, I would like to discuss environmental problems and the measures that the government and individuals can take to address these issues. To start with, air pollution is one of the most serious problems not only in Lviv but in the whole world. It refers to contamination of the atmosphere by harmful chemicals or biological materials. To solve the problem of air pollution, it's necessary to understand the issues and look for ways to counter it. .
The first things that are causing the air pollution are the factories. They are burning oil, coal and wood and, as a result, produce carbon dioxide. To make matters worse, most of our factories were built more than eighty years ago, and therefore, they manufacture more gases than new ones. The way I see it, the government could introduce the laws to limit emissions from factories or to force companies to put filters on factories' chimneys and use renewable energy from solar, wind or water power. .
Moreover, there are some things you can do to help keep the air cleaner. Firstly, we should use public transport rather than using our vehicle. For instance, public transportation can save our money and energy. It also helps reduce the amount of exhaust fumes in the air and may be able to relieve traffic jams. If more people use buses and trams, it means diminishing the number of cars on the road. Thus, it will reduce the risk of car accidents as well. Not to mention the fact that, drivers should be required to use unleaded petrol instead of fuel. Then, finally, we should plant as many trees in the parks and streets as we can. .
Secondly, water is essential to life. However, yet its pollution is one of the most extremely ecological threats we face today. Water pollution happens when toxic substances enter water bodies, such as lakes, rivers and oceans, without enough treatment to get rid of harmful compounds.
