Instead, I try to give myself at least 3 hours a day to read the chapters and do my homework, depending on when I am available to do so. The same goes for writing an essay. The writing process is a good tool to help you stay on schedule with your writing assignments.
The writing process has five steps, and can be followed like a schedule. The first step is prewriting, where you can brainstorm ideas for your essay. Next is writing your first draft, followed by revising. Following revising is editing, which you can do by looking closely at your sentences and words, and make sure that everything written is easy to understand. Finally, the last step of the writing process is publishing (Hale, N.D.).
Taking Time to Study.
Equally important to maintaining a schedule is taking the time to study. Studying is always a big part of going to school and doing well in class. It is imperative always to reserve time each week to study what you are learning in class. Studying can sometimes be boring, but there are ways to make it more fun, or to help you learn better. Knowing your personal learning style plays a big role. .
Everyone learns differently; knowing your personal learning style can help you to study more effectively. I recently took the quiz and learned that my personal learning style is kinesthetic. Since I was a child, being a kinesthetic learner has always proven true. Recognizing what personal learning style you have can better prepare you to use that knowledge to achieve greater academic success (Nickles, 2003). Furthermore to learning your personal learning style, you should create educational goals for yourself. .
Creating Educational Goals.
Creating educational goals can help you to stay motivated and push you to do better in your schoolwork. More importantly, you should set specific goals so that there are no gray areas. By setting specific educational goals, you know what it is that you are aiming for exactly, and can adjust accordingly to reach those goals.
