Cloning

Cloning will be useful as a way to treat human diseases by producing proteins, organ from animals which can be transplanted into human, and by producing new human cells that can replace damage cells. " Cloning is the technology that will finally make it possible to apply genetic engineering to humans," according to Lee Silver a molecular biologist from the Princeton University, author of Remaking Eden (Nash). As Silver said technology is growing, and it will be possible to find cure for those terrible diseases that are killing people every day. Looking this issue at the point that cloning would help humans and could save lives, not copying people; it would be wonderful that the scientists continue with this research about cloning.
Clone is a group of genetically identical cells. One example are tumors, they are clones of cells inside an organism because they consist of many replicas of one mutated cell. Another type of clone occurs inside a cell. Like a clone that is made up of groups of identical structures that contain genetic material (World Book).
Clone refers to one or more offspring derived from a single ancestor, whose genetic composition is identical to that of the ancestor. It also is a group of organisms that are genetically identical. Most of these clones come from asexual reproduction that is a process in which a new organism develops from only one parent. An experimental technique has been developed for cloning certain animals. The process of cloning an animal is destroying the nucleus of an egg cell of the species to be cloned. Then, the nucleus is removed from a body cell of an animal of the same species, and this nucleus is injected into the egg cell. Finally, the egg with its new nucleus develops into an animal with the same genetics characteristics of the donor (World Book).
One example of producing proteins is cloning a sheep that carry the extra gene that encodes the production of a protein which causes clotting in human blood, scientist can mass-produce those proteins for clinical for hemophiliacs or during surgery.
