A reason that has been brought about by many historians is the fact that the nation has needed them in the past, as in the American Revolution. This was the first time that armed citizens rebelled against a colonizing power. Without the use of private owned fire arms this rebellion would have never been possible. This is the argument for many people that look at the issue in a historical and in a worst case scenario manner. Those that oppose gun control also bring about the fact that it is the people that use the guns that are the dangerous ones. The guns just happen to be the way that the people choose to exact there revenge or aggression. They argue the fact that if they couldn't get guns that they would use some other sort of deadly weapon to do the same thing. A good point brought about is; should the government take away all deadly objects from United States citizens such as steak knives. This question has been a tough one to answer for many of those that are for gun control. Finally the biggest reason that I see makes an argument for no gun control is the fact that the second amendment says its okay. The United States Supreme Court has seen cases in the past that have settled in favor of no gun control due to the second amendment. I believe people are pressing the issue more now to take advantage of many of the liberal views and school shootings that have taken place recently. There are many reasons why gun control would not only hurt many of the citizens of the United States and their rights but it would affect a part of our history that has been around since we became an established country. .
Just as there are many reasons why people would oppose gun control, there are just as many reasons why people should be for gun control. A reason that sticks out in every teenager and parent's mind is the fact of school shootings. No guns would mean no school shootings. This however is a risk however, many people are willing to take even though a world without school shootings would be a better world.
