The Value of a College Education

I was one of the only students in the class that could coax some of the programs into working. Even the teacher had me helping her and other students. I remember the computer monitor screens had only one color. It was the same cool green color of the programming code used in the movie, "The Matrix." The computer also had large floppy disks. The disks were somewhat paper-like and actually had a "floppiness" about them. I really wish I could remember the type of machines we used in the class and what type of language we used to make those simple programs. Several parties later and an empty tank of gas, I would be forced to take on another job with equal bleakness. A dream of marriage to my wife would give me the courage to take on my present career. Enter the U.S. Army. Travel, money, education, experience, rent-free living, I was sold. Although the Army has taught me many, many hard learned lessons, lessons like "nothing is free" and "you get what you earn" and even "the value of a dollar." I would be lying if I did not say I have actually taken a liking to the Army. However, as time seems to go by faster and faster, my wife and new daughter have given me a different set of eyes in which to view the world. Mine and my family's vision of the future does not coalesce with the Army. So, eight years in the military and on the verge of yet another job change, I have come to the present and the University of Phoenix. .
A college degree and education from the University of Phoenix Online will be greatly cherished. I have slowly come to the understanding that an investment into a degree from the University of Phoenix will not only increase my earning potential, but my potential for learning and self-growth.
