Morpheus is Neo's mentor which is used in many martial arts films for example "the karate kid". From the action genre there are many stunts, there is a hero and a villain, "we need guns, lots of guns" that is a one liner which is used when the military hardware is bought in. There are loud diagetic sounds. .
In the last scene Neo has just been to see the oracle, and Morpheus gets captured by the agents because he believes Neo is the one (Neo's name is an anagram of one). Neo and trinity have re-entered the Matrix to try and save Morpheus. The scene aims to build tension by having the heroes go against almost impossible odds, before saving Morpheus in an impressive scene.
There is a reverse shot of Trinity, Neo and a soldier. Trinity throws the knife and saves Neo, you don't see the knife flying through the air but you hear exaggerated diagetic noise of the knife flying through the air. This adds drama to the shot. This dramatic contact only shows the back of the soldiers head because if they had shown the front of the head it would have been too violent for a fifteen. This would have made the film an eighteen and wouldn't have reached the targeted audience. This would have made it less bankable as the film would be seen by fewer people. .
There are a couple of low angle shots making the agent look powerful and the heroes looking weak.
There is a medium long shot of Neo with his long coat draping out to the side. This is not only an artistic shot; it crosses into the western genre where there is a long trench coat of the gunslinger. It is a very manly pose in which there is smoke which shows the danger he is in and that he is preparing for battle. The audience can tell that something is about to happen and their tension rises. .
There is a medium close up but done with a telephoto lens which gives an exaggerated perspective of depth. Trinity is holding the gun, showing the audience that she is more powerful.
