The film addresses this issue as an unjust invasion of the individuals" privacy and personal rights. A similar problem occurs today in the form of paganism. Although not widespread in America, paganism persists in many remote regions of earth such as India and Nepal. The worship of numerous gods like "Vishnu" and "Siva" rests in direct opposition to God's first commandment: "You shall have no other gods before me". The false belief in paganism as well as atheism represents the lie inherent in the Matrix. The Matrix presents human slavery as an unjust system that denies society its right to live a real life of freedom, not an imaginary life in oppression.
