Freedom's Obligation


            Freedom in this country does not mean absolute freedom to go about and do whatever your moved to do. Rules and regulations have to be followed and enforced to ensure order. Without these guidelines to live by we would experience total chaos. In life we are given free will to make decisions for ourselves. We learn from adults when we are kids to understand what's right and wrong. Without the disciplinary actions of our authorities we would never comprehend constructive or deconstructive behavior.
             In the United States, we are privileged enough to know freedom in all of it's glory. We live in a land where you can become whatever you want as long as you are willing to work for it. The history of our country is plagued with battles that contributed to the main goal of freedom. The first settlers who came to America were in search of religious freedom. England was religiously persecuting it's citizens and a hand full of people had enough courage and strength to leave what they knew behind to start a new life not knowing what was out and about the new territory they were about to explore. Heroes found our country. .
             The events of September 11th were devastating to out nations way of life. However, never before have so many been more proud to call themselves an American. Heroes rose all over the nation on that cruel and evil day. Men and Women ready to sacrifice their lives in hopes of lighting our darkest hour. We read and hear story after story of the passengers fighting their way to the cockpit to sabotage the plans of the terrorists. And in the aftermath of being attacked so cowardly and shameful, we realized we are above the situation. We possessed the power to annihilate our foe and have the plausibility of a major eruption of conflict in the world. However, we remained proud and handled the matter like true Americans. Now we are the ones who are victorious. Our nations' leaders rose to the occasion.
