The author of this paper will strive to contrast the first utopian society to today's real life society. The author will also seek to prove that according to the Holy Bible the human race can once again live in a utopian world if they choose to live a life of obedience to God. The same God that provided a utopian atmosphere in Eden can do it again for this current generation.
In Thomas More writings he paints a vivid picture of the first perfect society which was called the Garden of Eden. More's imagination about this society and the inhabitants of this civilization is supported by an Old Testament book of the bible. Thomas More uses Genesis chapter 1 and 2 as the backdrop as he describes the flawless environment. According to More, God provided humans with their every necessity in this paradise. There was a continuation of fresh unpolluted air and food and water was abundantly available. This was because due to water that continually sprung up from the ground and the lavish trees that provided fruit of every kind. Accordingly, the environment consisted of no sickness, death, crying, no work and etc. This is just a sample of what the first perfect culture was like. Furthermore, man was made in the image of God and subsequently woman was made from the rib of the first man. Therefore, they were without sin and were perfect beings living in a perfect world. This was the case for years until Satan got the opportunity to deceive the woman. Sadly, sin enters the scene and the first man and woman was cast out of the garden. Because of one man and woman, sin had become a barrier to having a perfect society as well as an obstacle to human happiness in today's modern world. .
Thomas More describes the aforementioned chapters of Genesis as a nonexistent perfect society nevertheless, this contradicts the Holy Bible. More was correct in stating that it was a perfect society genetically, morally, and spiritually.
