The Foundation of Global Politics


            Everyday humans all around the world are being affected by global politics. A question asked by many is what global politics is and how it started? Global politics is the world affairs on the basis of international paradigm (Global politics, Palgrave Macmillan page 1). Global politics is formed on the base of the relation between states. The modern state has long been viewed as the most substantial factor in today's International political discussions (Global politics, Palgrave Macmillan page 112). The modern state arose in the fifteenth- and sixteenth- century in Europe as a system where people of the state will be able to come together in aspects such as temporal and spiritual institutions (Global politics, Palgrave Macmillan page 112). This essay will present why the modern state was developed and how it is the foundation in international politics.
             The turning point in history was in 1945 where the decolonization of European empires which also escalated the economical, political and ideological developments in Asia, Africa and the Middle East which played a major role of the birth of global politics (Global politics, Palgrave Macmillan page 36). Democracy played a huge role in the creation of the modern state as more people wanted to be more involved in decisions or at least being able to vote on who represents their needs. A state is recognized by international law in the Montevideo convention on the rights and duties of the state, which conditions that a state must have the following four features to be recognized. The first feature is a defined territory where the geographical outline is established for the state; second of all it needs to have a permanent population, an established government, and the ability to enter into relations with other states (Global politics, Palgrave Macmillan page 112). .
             The role of the state is to create law and order, which may lead to violence if some of the citizens decided to break the laws, which meant the state, may use violence to emphasis their power while if a citizen retaliates that would be breaking the law.
