Going For It and Making the Team

Like always, they closed the meeting by asking if anyone had any questions, and everyone looked at each other with a nervous look on their faces. I was focusing on the previous year's returning teammates, and became instantly intimidated, even though I knew that they had to tryout again, as well. I walked out of the meeting so fast with my mom. I wasn't the smallest back then, and one of the main reasons why I was nervous for trying out for the team was because I thought my weight would hold me up. I soon made an appointment with my doctor, and what do you know? He told me I was cleared for the clinic, and even gave me great words of encouragement. He was very proud of me trying out for the team because he knew that this opportunity could turn my health around for the better. .
The weekend before clinics, I was a complete mess, because I was psyching myself out, thinking very negatively about my week ahead. I was telling myself, "I can't do this," but my sister kept placing positive thoughts in my head, and I managed to get through the weekend, with a positive mentality. Before I knew it, Monday, or Day 1 crept up on me. I was nervous as I packed my bag for the clinic in the morning, but I realized that I'm definitely not the only one nervous, and told myself that everything would be all good. Off to school I went. Classes were cool that day, although I kept having mini anxiety attacks throughout the day, but before I knew it, the dismissal bell rang, and it was go time. I walked to the quad area where we were supposed to meet up, and surprisingly didn't feel as nervous as I thought I would. There were about 60 people anxiously waiting with me. I heard people who had tried out in previous years mumbling, "This is twice as much people as last year!" I didn't pay any mind to it, and I began to mingle with some peers that were trying out as well. As I looked down at the quad walkway, I see the three captains running up to come, and greet us.
