The states called for a new constitution, but there are some people whom no matter what will not accept or want this change even though it is an obvious necessity. A government is a necessity and no matter how it is put together the people must surrender some of there natural rights for it to succeed. Therefore it makes sense to come under one stronger central government than to allow this union to split up into many separate, smaller confederacies. This constitution is being proposed to prevent the continuing separation of this Union. The Articles of Confederation do not provide a strong central government. This will, without doubt, dissolve this wonderful, patriotic union by itself. When this happens we will turn to each other and ask "why did this happen?" It shall become of your stubbornness to revise you government with the states.
There are many subjects that a government must direct their attention to. First and foremost of these is safety which currently the government is powerless to provide. By providing the power to one central government, rather than to numerous individual ones, the efficiency of providing safety to all equally would be greatly increased.
A strong central government would be more able to form a navy and lead to a richer and more cost effective union. This will form a stronger union of the States and stop illicit trade and make other nation form commercial negotiations and better trade policies. Also it is cheaper to run one united government than thirteen separate ones. This will allow for a more prosperous overall union. The original Idea that the separate states could exist separately and act as one in concert was incorrect. Each individual state wishes to due what is in its on interest and tends to ignore the union as a whole. If this continues it can only lead to a military despotism. On the other hand if the national government passed the laws directly then the states attempting to break them would be openly violating the national law.
