Evolution

Fossils show the changes throughout time of the different species.
The third theory of evolution is comparative anatomy. Comparative anatomy is the comparing of the structures in different species. There are two kinds of comparative anatomy. They are homologous structures and vestigial structures. Homologous structures are similar body parts of with different uses found in different species. Forelimbs of mammals are good examples of this because they are found in mammals but they are used for different things. For example, humans have forearms very different than birds. Birds use their forearms to help them fly while humans use their form arms for other purposes. Vestigial structures are the structures found in the body that are no longer useful but are still found in the body. This can prove evolution because it shows that at one time we had the same structure but we kept evolving. We never got rid of these similar structures but we have evolved on so we don't use them. Animals that have similar vestigial structures can show that we once evolved from similar species because we all have the same structures present but we don't use them.
The fourth theory of evolution is comparative embryology. Comparative embryology is how living things develop from eggs. See although people wouldn't expect it, similar organisms go through similar stages in embryonic development. This can show evolution because at one time all animals might have once been an organism that used this way of development and we still go through the stages. As the stages continue, the organisms change. An example of this theory is that all vertebrae's have gill pouches. All vertebrae's have this but as they develop more, the gill pouch develops into different uses for each organism.
The fifth and last theory of evolution is molecular biology. Molecular biology is taking a look at DNA. This is the newest evidence of evolution and it confirms previous evidence.
