Weird Water World

As I look around, I see a very barren land, with select few patches of greenery. It is also sweltering hot in the day, and freezing cold at night. Even with water on this land, there isn't much life. As I took readings of this water, it was boiling hot. When a dried leaf landed on the surface, it just sank. On earth, the leaf would have just floated. I put on a special diving suit to protect myself from the boiling water, and dove down into the depths of this lake I had come to. There were no fish, or plant life. The bottom of the lake was frozen solid, and I knew it was the middle of the summer here on this planet. It was amazing.
From my readings, this water will not help with the hydrating of my body, so I brought along my own water. Earth water will keep me hydrated, and keep my liver from working over time. Along with hydrating the body, water helps with weight loss, and will definitely help keep the weight off. When there isn't enough water in the body, the body goes into survivor mode and stores its water reserves and the fat cells. With enough water in our bodies, our water retention drops, so we lose more weight than gain. Drinking water also curbs the appetite.
To see if this water would possibly dissolve anything, which I highly doubted, I took some water into a few tubes and put in sugar, salt, and, of all things, waste. It is amazing, nothing was dissolved. On earth, when sugar, or salt, or even waste is put into water it dissolves because water is a natural dissolving agent. It can wear away at the hardest of rocks by washing away, molecule by molecule and eventually nothing is left. On this planet, the stream rocks are jagged and not worn away at all, and the rocks are painful to step on. If that cannot be dissolved, then sugar and salt were not dissolved by that same process.
As I said with the leaf, nothing floats on this waters surface. There are no bugs on the surface, s there are no fish.
