The jock is known as Mr. Popular in high school and is the guy that everyone wished they could be like. Not all jocks are like this because I was one in high school, as I played football and wrestled. I graduated with a hard earned 3.7 GPA, so not all things are as true as they seem.
The next guy would be classified as the "nerd." This is the guy who doesn't care what he is wearing, he usually wears pants that are what would be classified as flooding (too small for him) and he would wear a Polo shirt that is out dated. His shoes are not Nike or Reebok, maybe a Wal-mart brand. These guys are the loners who got picked on in high school and maybe got stuffed in the locker or maybe gotten their lunch money stolen from them. The pants represent the way they loathe in their self pity because they get no girls and all they have is their school work to look forward to. On weekends maybe a game of chess with a friend or maybe going to a Science convention. You would never catch him at a party because he wouldn't be invited. The Polo shirt is probably picked out by their parents and shows that they are still being controlled by their parents and have no say in what goes on in their lives, except to get straight A's. His shoes show that he is cheap and thrifty and it really doesn't matter what he wears because he is a nerd, the guy that jocks go to for tutoring or to do their homework. The value of their education is more important than the way they look basically. .
The last classification of the guys I observed would be labeled as the "preppy" guy. This guy wears nice clothing like Khakis and a nice dress shirt from name brands like J-Crew, Hollister, or American Eagle. They looked clean shaven and have a cool hairstyle. The look they portray by wearing these clothes would say that they are spoiled by their parents and are rich. They want everyone to know it; they drive those nice cars such as the Mercedes Benzes or Porsches that we all dream of.
