Technology changes the conditions of humanity

The speaker asserts that technology cannot change the condition of humanity on the basis of the fact that humanity has advanced little, with war, violence, and poverty still around us, while technology has developed greatly over ages. However, it is true that a host of pressing social problems remain troubling us, I disagree the speaker's assertion. In fact, over the past century, we have witnessed technology greatly changes the condition of humanity in many aspects.
Admittedly, from the beginning of the century, war, violence, and poverty are always haunting us. The World war broke out twice, as well as countless regional wars; Violence escalates from adults to juveniles. How about poverty? The poor still struggle in slums. Actually, we keep on working out varied projects with the hope of diminishing them. Yet they seemingly remain immune. Meanwhile, technological innovations emerge unceasingly, marked by from Steam-engine Times to Information Times. However, technology permeates every field of our life and our whole society comes under its influence. .
Some might argue that technology permeates every field of our life except humanity. However, humanity cannot escape the strong permeation of technology. In retrospect, multitudes of examples will exemplify the fact I have mentioned above that technology changes the condition of humanity in many aspects. Take example for respect for human rights, a crucial aspect of humanity. In times without technology, human just believe in God. They had no idea of their natural rights, merely in faith that God creates human-thus human must obey God's orders, even which deprived human of their lives. At that time, no concept of respect for human rights existed in our thoughts. However, as time goes by, as well as the development of technology, the condition changes gradually. Since the commence of Industrial Revolution, consciousness of human rights had sprung up.
