The Great Gatsby

Daisy in a panic does not stop the car. George Wilson, Myrtle's husband is devastated, and when Tom arrives on the scene, George keeps saying he knows who did it, and that someone saw the car. George is led to believe that his wife cheated on him, with the same man who killed her. He is heart broken; he takes a gun to Mr. Gatsby's house and kills him when he is in the pool, and then kills himself because he has nothing left to live for. Gatsby's funeral, unlike his parties, was deserted; no one came to say their goodbyes. To me this says that he was only used for his social functions, no one cared about him as a person. .
The Character's in "The Great Gatsby" are very interesting. The main characters consist of Nick Carraway, Jay Gatsby, Jordan Baker, Daisy and Tom Buchanan and Myrtle and George Wilson. Nick to me seems very honest and patient, he does not judge people straight away, he likes Jay Gatsby but sees all his faults, he thinks Gatsby is dishonest, he knows Gatsby is not telling the truth about his life, he knows that Gatsby has dealt in criminal businesses to become rich to impress Daisy. Nick may not approve of Gatsby, yet he still thinks of him as great, and looks up to him. Gatsby is a troubled young man whose aim in life was to become rich and win back Daisy. He does not seem very truthful, and is very mysterious, but his past unravels slowly throughout the story. I personally did not like Daisy, she seems to be the type of person who cannot be without love, in a way she seems disloyal to me, as she could not wait for Jay. Tom is Daisy's husband, he is a harsh man, arrogant, and full of ideas he expects everyone else to agree with. He expects everyone to live up to the standards he sets; yet he cheats on his wife constantly. Myrtle is married to George Wilson, but she finds him to boring and drained out, and seeks entertainment through Tom. She is fiery, and thinks very highly of herself, she does not believe that she was meant to live above a garage with such a lifeless man as her husband.
