Frankenstien theme of solitude

One of the chief themes in the classic novel Frankenstein is the alienation that resides in both Victor and the monster he created. Victor's alienation originated from his intense desire for knowledge. He then deeply involves himself into the creation of the monster which only strengthens the estrangement from his family and friends. He troughs himself into his work and creates his own isolation and exclaims "I must absent myself from all that I love while thus employed." This is also stating to the reader that he chooses his own alienation. Another way Victor alienates himself is by keeping the monster a secret. Victor vents his isolation by articulating, "Did any one indeed exist, except I, the creator, who would believe, unless his senses convinced him, in the existence of the living monument of presumption and rash ignorance which I had let loose upon the world." .
Although Victor suffers a great deal of seclusion, nothing compares to the loneliness the monster endures. One of the many difference between the monster's seclusion and Victors isolation is that the monster is born into isolation and Victor created his own seclusion. Victor ensures isolation of the monster by creating him. The monsters first encounter with alienation derives the abandonment from his creator. It is apparent that Victor wants no part in his horrendous creation which mainly stems from his appearance when he exposes by exclaiming "the beauty of the dream vanished, and breathless horror and disgust filled my heart." He is also shunned because of his appearance from not only Victor but from society as well.
"All men hate the wretched; how then must I be hated, who am miserable beyond all living things . . . . Every where I see bliss from which I alone am irrevocably excluded. I was benevolent and good; misery made me a fiend." He is judged upon appearance exhibiting how that society values good looks. .
As the monster lives in isolation there are certain instances in which he wishes to communicate with humans.
