The Way to Calm

             Aromatherapy is the practice of using essential oils in various ways to benefit us physically and psychologically. Essential oils are extracted from the seeds, leaves, flowers, barks, gums and roots of plants that have been used since ancient times. Some oils are used for relaxation techniques while others are rejuvenating. Some of the oils suitable for relaxation are chamomile, cedarwood, lavender, sandalwood and frankincense. There are many different ways of using the oils to obtain a sense of relaxation. The most common way is to purchase an oil burner in which the oil sits in some type of bowl and is warmed from a candle beneath it. This is known as a vaporizer because it fills the air with the fragrance and lasts a few hours. Another way to use essential oils is by adding them into bath water. This can be a very effective method of relaxation as a bath by itself is soothing. Inhalations of essential oils are also effective. This involves filling a bowl of hot water and adding a few drops of oil and holding a towel over your head and breathing in the fragrance filled steam. This can be a very quick and effective method to relax and clear your mind. One more way of using arometherapy to relax is by getting an arometherapy massage by a qualified arometherapist. This method will leave you feeling not only relaxed but pampered as well which always make you feel good. This seems to be the most effective method of relaxation using essential oils as your muscles are relaxed, your circulation is increased and the oils are absorbed through the skin. All of these relaxation methods using essential oils are very effective and assist in obtaining a state of relaxation.
