Job Satisfaction

            
             The following paper will discuss issues concerning job satisfaction and its relationship to the workplace. I will express my personal opinions and information that I have learned from out lectures, textbook and work experience. The goals of this paper will encompass providing the reader and myself with a better understanding of how job satisfaction effects an organization and how to enhance employees satisfaction with there employer. .
             The first thing that I would like to discuss is the factors that are involved in an organization that might enhance job satisfaction. The factors that would enhance an employees job satisfaction are the following; freedom, feedback, good pay and promotion programs, challenging, personal comfort and social interaction. Having freedom in the workplace is important because employees want to feel like they are given a chance to express their feelings and ideas which they might not be allowed to do if they were not given any freedom. Employees also like to hear both negative and positive feedback in order to understand how they are performing in the workplace. If employees believe that there pay and promotion system is fair and incorporates pay that is on par with community levels and takes into consideration their individual skill level then job satisfaction is likely to occur.
             The second thing that will be discussed is the effect that job satisfaction has on productivity. Early views on productivity and job satisfaction showed that there was a good correlation between the two. People once believed that a "happy worker is a productive worker,"" since then we have came to new conclusions about productivity. Current studies have shown that although job satisfaction is important in the work place and it doesn't have much of an effect on productivity. It has been found that productivity actually effects job satisfaction in that if an employee does a good job then they will be satisfied about it.
