In a small firm there can be one or two people, often times even the owner of the company that do all of these tasks.
Marketing executives rarely work in the outdoors, but the work is always changing. Something new and different is always about to happen and it's the Marketing Manager's job to be on top of that so that they can create a sellable product. Marketing managers usually work at least 50 hours a week, possibly including evening and weekend work. In marketing the part-time manager usually does not effectively make it, marketing takes long hours of work so that dead lines can be met and sales made.
A long list of schooling accomplishments and recommendations is required for getting a marketing job. A bachelor's degree is by far the most strongly recommended. The degree can be achieved in sociology, science, psychology, literature, engineering, journalism, philosophy, and on certain occasions others. Also recommended is a master's degree in business management with an emphasis on marketing. Along with a degree, some corporations also require a marketing certification from the BMA (Business Marketing Association). Suggested courses to take also include; business law, public relations, international business, marketing management, graphic arts, accounting, statistics, finances, economics, and mathematics. Companies also look for a strong background in liberal arts, internship for a marketing executive, and a long list of recommendations. Previous work experience is also looked for when applications are evaluated. Education is almost always continued after getting a job in marketing. Often the employer will send marketers to seminars, classes, and discussions to ensure they are getting the best possible marketing staff. What people want and what people want to see is always changing, so marketing approaches also need to be always changing. It's all about getting the people to be familiar with the product or service and deciding to spend money on it, which in the end profits the manufacture and everyone involved in selling it.
