Globalization and the World Market

Business people today must invest more than ever in their own education process, because the markets are so diverse and demanding. This diversity makes businessmen and women more aware of the happenings outside of their own region. This greater awareness of different cultures makes business people today more diverse themselves. The result is a more well rounded person who is more open to positions and arguments of others. .
             Evidence of this is shown in the products of the markets. Manufactured goods that are traded in the market no longer originate in one particular country. They are rather, compositions of many different countries. The national markets are now simply subsets of a larger world market. This allows for the advancement of capitalism into the world. .
             The process of globalization has been made possible by the advancements in technology. With the creation of the Internet and other electronic processing systems, communication throughout the world is easier than ever. These advancements have almost eradicated trade barriers that once existed. Since communication is now global, the result is a global market.
             Because of the ease of communication and nonexistent trade barriers, products are now produced in Third World countries for minimal cost and shipped throughout the world to consumers for far less than in years past. The corporations that establish employment to these Third World countries are providing a service there as well. These countries now have greater sources of income improving the standard of living, because of the existence of these new companies. Although it will take years for these countries to climb to the levels of the United States and Europe, it is a step in the right direction. .
             Some "negative externalities" that result from globalization are the loss of national markets and some loss of nationality. One case-in-point is relevant here in Alabama.
