It is nice to know that I wont have to feel pressures from others, and others wont feel pressures from myself if one of us has completed something the other has not. However, on the opposite side of this, sometimes it is nice to have help from peers who may understand something better then I do. I think that this class will also be good because it is going to force us to read in order to respond. Taking a college English class has made me think about that reading we had in class about people who are illiterate just because they are too lazy to pick something up and read it. Although, one has to be able to read to be in a college course, I think they should offer online classes or programs such as this in high school or junior high. These classes will make it so a person has to be able to read to get direction to do the assignment. In a regular class people can just listen to what is assigned as opposed to having to read it. I also think because reading is so necessary in this class, students will learn different ways to form sentences, learn the meaning of different words, and learn how to spell better. .
There were two things that almost kept me from signing up for an online class. For one, I thought it would be very difficult to communicate to the teacher, and have the adequate time I need with a teacher to achieve a good grade in the course. Letters (e-mails) can be interpreted differently by the reader then it was intended to be interpreted by the writer. This is a problem that I am sure everyone has, and has come across in everyday e-mails to and from friends. I was (and still am) a little bit worried that I am going to write something to mean one thing, and another person is going to read it and take it a whole different way. I know that sometimes I am not able to truly express my views or feelings on a situation through writing. In accordance with this, another con that I thought of was that students may read an assignment and not understand it the way it is meant to be understood.
