Cloning

Cloning: Is it ethical to clone humans?.
It is absolutely important that every aspect of human cloning be taken into careful and close consideration. If this is not carefully reviewed the entire world may be in danger. The cloning of humans can benefit in many situations and can help save lives. The downside of cloning is the question of whether it is ethical or not to clone a human? For years, clones have been dreamt of but the technology was just not there to do it. But now the cloning a whole human being really seems possible. With developments in the cloning world of the first whole mammal with Dolly the Sheep. Now the ethics of doing so must be carefully considered. Many of the world's religious groups and health organizations are making motions against this idea. .
A clone is a group of genetically identical cells that have the same DNA strands. The process of Adult DNA cloning involves removing the DNA from an embryo and replacing it with the DNA from a cell removed from an individual. Then the embryo is allowed to develop in to a new human whose DNA is identical to that of the individual. .
In the case of the sheep "Dolly" a cell was taken from the mammary tissue of a mature 6-year-old sheep while its DNA was in a dormant state. It was fused with a sheep ovum, which had its nucleus, removed. The "fertilized" cell was then simulated with an electric pulse. Out of 277 attempts at cell fusion only 29 began to divide. These were implanted in ewes. Thirteen became pregnant but only one lamb, Dolly, was born. .
Similar experiments to clone mice have been unsuccessful. One speculation is that the DNA in sheep may not be used by the cells until after three or four cell divisions have been completed . And both human's and mice use the DNA after the second cell division . Some scientists have come the conclusion that humans are uncloneable . .
Another disturbing possibility with cloning is the control of the source of the DNA.
