My fellow Americans, it has come to my attention that there is a feud being fought over the idea of cloning. As president I would like to continue this project, but in a way that all citizens will be able to cope with.
As president I would like to fund research for cloning. I would like to do this, for if we could create a clone of certain organs, or be able to clone blood types (especially rare ones) our hospitals could save more lives than ever before. We could clone plants. By cloning a plant we would not only be able to start saving our rainforests, but we would also be able to set up a kind of enclosed forest on a different planet, therefore allowing us to live on that planet. Along with that we might even be able to clone animals, enabling us to clone species that are becoming extinct, we might even find a way to recreate extinct animals, such as the dodo. By cloning I think we would be doing the world a great favor. I also believe that people shouldn't be cloned unless it is absolutely necessary. For example, parents not being able to conceive a child for medical reasons should be allowed to clone themselves. The reason for this is because while the child may be a replica in body and facial structure of the mother or father, but they will neither act nor think in the same manner when they are older, based on their different culture experiences.
I also feel that unless a person has a reasonable cause for wanting a clone of them they shouldn't be allowed to create one. I feel this way because people shouldn't be created and then hurt because someone wants to do an experiment on them, like duplicating a child and then placing it in another family and studying how differently they grow up to be. Nor should a person be duplicated only to have a frozen copy of them that they can later kill just to replace some failing organ.
In conclusion I believe that cloning should still be researched, for it could save lives of many, but what we clone should be documented carefully as well.
