Argentine Tango

Decent families did not want any part in this new type of dance and if a man or woman wanted to learn, their only choice would be to dance with another person of the same sex. From here on in, the Tango moved to the poor immigrants from all over Europe living in boarding house common areas or Buenos Aires. .
These inhabitants of the boarding houses were decent people and it took many years for Tango to penetrate into their society. At first during weddings, birthdays and anniversaries when the Tango was played, it was disregarded and unappreciated. As the more "purified version" of the Tango was created it become more and more accepted at the very same celebrations. Tango music and dance became less vulgar and more civilized. It was this "purified version" of the Tango that also attracted the middle and high class of people. The youth of these prestigious families especially the young males went out into the cities to look for adventure and came back with the knowledge of the Tango. They than taught their newly learned dance to their siblings, family and friends. Even though the Tango was becoming more and more popular it was still regarded by many as the dance of the ill reputed men and women. In its final struggle before becoming internationally popular the Tango traveled to Europe.
The rich and famous of Argentina had estates in Europe and visited them at least once a year. While in Europe the Argentineans threw grand galas that were attended by the nobility, rich and famous of Europe. It was the young males that stayed behind in Europe to pursue higher education that taught the Tango to their counterparts in Europe during these parties. The Tango spread like wildfire and became an instant craze in Europe primarily in Paris. It quickly reached many other capital cities of Europe such as Rome and London and also reached New York. Along the way it picked up different attributes that make up the modern day Tango.
