The Fix

We see millions of ads on an everyday basis. If they are not on the television, they are in magazines or newspapers. All these ads are trying to get us to purchase something or believe something. All these commercials and ads try to tell the public something. They all have different messages. What really are these ads telling us?.
All commercials and advertisements portray different things. In the Starbucks Frappachino commercial and the Red Bull commercials, their ideas are very similar. In one of the Starbucks commercials, a man walks across a sphere that resembles the earth. At first, he is fast-paced, and as the commercial goes on, the sun gets to be a little bit more intense. He starts to sink into the ground, and he is exhausted. He stops to drink the Frappachino, he starts to rise out of the ground, and he starts his fast pace walk again. They make it seem that the drink makes things a little bit easier. .
Like in the Starbucks commercial, the Red Bull commercial portrays the same message. The Red Bull commercial shows a cartoon-like figure with wings, and he goes around talking to other characters. He says, "Red Bull gives you wings". He makes it seem that because he has wings, he has the advantage. This again says that by drinking Red Bull, life is a little easier. .
Both the Frappachino and the Red Bull drinks have caffeine in them. Naturally they will give you a little boost of energy that could make your day better. In their commercials, they seem to exaggerate their products, however caffeine helps sometimes, but not that much.
Does the exaggeration in the Starbucks and Red Bull commercials really have an effect on society? I do think that they inflate the values of their products. In the commercials, they promise that drinking their beverages will give you this overpowering feel of energy that will make your day better. I think drinking their products will give you some energy, but not to that extreme.
