Matrix

The film titled, "The Matrix," both written and directed by the Warchowski Brothers was a successful movie because of its evident visual effects, distinct usage of idioms, intent of the dialect and audible effects.
The visibly observable effects used in this film aided in its popular rate of success. The Matrix had numerous examples of revolutionary special effects, characteristic body language, camera angles, cinematography, cutaway, fading in and out and establishing shots all intended purposefully. An example of special effect usage is the wirework in the wall, window and the leap when Trinity escapes the agents in the city. The body language is directly related to the actor's abilities, just as an example, the unmistakable evidence of Trinity's attraction to Neo. The camera angles are used effectively to show a character's importance or emotions. For example, when Morpheus offers Neo the pills in Hotel Lafayette the camera is noticeably below positioned upwards. This helps to show Morpheus's image of power. All throughout the movie the cinematographer does an excellent job. For instance, in the fight scenes the camera moves around in a circular motion showing all of Neo's angles. Cutaway was used to the film's benefit, for example, when Neo goes to visit the Oracle. Each character is shown as they answer the phone (almost simultaneously) to enter the Matrix and depart the hotel. A successful establishing shot is when Neo first arrives in the jump program. All of the above effects made this movie successful as they intentionally caught the viewer's attention at certain points gave clear pictures to avoid confusion and made the film more attractive to the eye of the watcher.
The movie's indirect language used to express certain thoughts provided its successful tendency. Throughout the entire film viewers are able to recognise allusions, irony, genre and humour. For example allusions of religion, biblical, Christ and the bible appear frequently.
