Human Cloning

            Human Cloning: Unethical, Unnatural Humans.
Centuries ago no one could possibly fathom how far our, the human race's, technology would travel. The inventions over the years have been incredible to advance the human species. Cars, airplanes, cell phones, and unbelievable medical advances do not even scratch the surface of what man has accomplished. Now in the futuristic world we live in, man desires a new, morally wrong goal: to invent a clone of a natural human being. This clone to be invented would be an unnatural being, that may be born human, but also engineered to be human. This goal of mankind should be banned, making a clone of another person is wrong.
Some people not only believe cloning is okay, but should be used often. According to Michael Shermer a clone should be treated by three different moral laws: "1. A human clone is a human being no less unique in his or her personhood than an identical twin. 2. A human clone has all the rights and privileges that accompany this legal and moral status. 3. A human clone is to be accorded the dignity and respect due any member of our species- (par. 2). These are a fine set of basic principals to work off of, but how do we know the public will actually back human cloning. It is a very good possibility that people would reject the clones out of fear. A staggering 74 percent of the 1,005 people surveyed in a 1997 Time/CNN poll say it is against God's will to create human clones (Shermer par. 6). This could lead to many protests and possibly violence. The clone would be rejected and made to live a different life than a normal person would live.
Aside from moral issues there are many medical reasons to not clone human beings. Major medical issues can occur within the mother and the gestating clone. The current state of animal cloning has resulted in very high occurrences of genetic and physical defects and premature aging of the clone.
