Ethan Frome Film Review Overall, Ethan Frome, the movie was a good movie to go along with the novel. It captures nearly all of the themes presented in the novel, and helps the viewer to understand the novel's themes even better. Frome's land is barren and isolated from the town, like in the book, and Zeena is portrayed ... well done. The costumes were perfect, with Ethan in his dark brown clothing, and Mattie in the red shawl, which also connected one of the themes in the book to the novel, the theme of passion or love. The setting was also well done. Starkfield was just as I had imagined it, ...

Speech of Persuasion Critical Review of The Great Gatsby The portrayal of symbols in the novel In the novel, The Great Gatsby, there were many symbols set up by F. Scott Fitzgerald. Many of the symbols she used wouldn't usually be thought of as a symbol. However, in the book, the symbols were very descriptive and ... could be recognized easier than in the movie. The movie showed the symbols briefly, but they weren't expressed as much as in the book. Therefore, I think that the book did a better job of portraying the symbols. There are three main symbols in the novel. The first of the three is...

Movie Review of Macbeth Shakespeare's original version of Macbeth is truly a classic piece of literature. This is why I feel that Polanski needed to do a good job in bringing Macbeth from a novel to a movie. While Polanski was creating this film, he had to produce something that was both interesting to watch and also followed the book. This in my opinion is a hard task to ... anything that was going on, so I feel that they couldn't really have done anything different to the lighting. When I heard we were going to watch the movie after reading the book, I couldn't help but to wonder what Polan...

Some of these differences were: the mixing of the characters Sherwood and Brooks in the movie, killing Tommy Williams in the movie, but not the book, having warden Sam Norton the warden the whole time (in the movie), making Red black in the movie instead of a red haired Irish white man ... and there was no mention of a cell-mate named Normaden in the movie. Tolstoy once wrote that "All happy families resemble one another, each unhappy family is unhappy in its own way."" And the family in Nia Vardalos' movie My Big Fat Greek Wedding could have just as easily been Italian or Jewish or just about any other nationality on earth. The point is, the family was happy in the kind of ways to which most of us can relate. And that's the recipe for a very funny movie. The movie depicts the kind of frenzy and folly that inevitably ensues when someone from a large family is either deemed to be getting a little long in the tooth to be (still) unmarried, or when ...
