             The book Who Moved My Cheese? By Dr. Spencer Johnson, is attempting to pave a road map for readers on ways to handle change. The books author believes that when faced with change, there are simple things that work to help you cope with these changes. The story's characters are faced with change and they all deal with it differently. .
             There are four characters: Sniff, Scurry, Hem, and Haw. Sniff and Scurry are mice, Sniff as the ability to "Sniff" out and detect problems, and Scurry has a great ability to act quickly when a situation arises. One the other hand the characters Hem and Haw are tiny people who allow emotions and attitudes effect there way to adapt to change. Hem and Haw had a major flaw in that they settled into a comfortable routine, and are content to do the same thing the same way everyday. .
             The book talks about a Cheese Station C, which supplied Sniff, Scurry, Hem, and Haw with a limited amount cheese. Eventually, the cheese starts to run out, and Sniff and Scurry have noticed, and they began to search for new cheese, while Hem and Haw were too busy showing off their cheese and feeling too secure, about how much cheese was left. They failed to notice the subtlety of change that was happening around them. .
             One day they arrive at Station C, and the cheese is all gone. Hem believed it was unfair, and Haw blocked everything out (he was in denial) that the cheese was gone. Both feared this change and feared the impact it would have on their life, and their lifestyle. They made excuses as to why they shouldn't and couldn't change. This kept them from starting the change process. .
             As the days went by without the cheese, Haw started asking himself what he would do if he wasn't afraid. Haw began to adapt towards the idea of change, and he began to see in a more positive light, and embraces the idea of adventure. Haw only sees danger associated with change, and greatly fears the unknown, and he is able to face his fears and set out and look for new cheese.
