Birth Control

I feel there are many reasons why people should use birth control. The first and most important is that most of the people partaking in pre-marital sex are not financially, emotionally, or even physically ready to have a child. If a child is conceived, chances are the parents will handle the situation three different ways. They opt for an abortion, they give the child up for adoption, or they have the child and struggle. Using birth control will allow people to avoid risking pregnancy and having to deal with the stressful affects of a possible child. Why risk your future?.
More and more society is accepting pre-marital sex. With many different forms of contraception available, I think that birth control should be used. Numerous religious groups argue that birth control should not be available. They think that it is killing an unborn child. In my opinion, birth control is not killing any child; it is preventing something that never existed to be real. Birth control is a good thing in that it lessons the amount of abortions and unwanted pregnancies. There are other positive outcomes to using birth control. As well as preventing pregnancy, it helps protect your self from contracting a sexually transmitted disease. If a person decides to be sexually active, then using birth control will better their experience. They will be able to enjoy what they are doing and not have to worry about babies or STD's. .
While I firmly believe in birth control use, people must know there ways that contraceptives can be ineffective. Some reasons are if the user does not follow the directions, there is inconsistent use of the contraceptive, the condom breaks during sex, or the user is taking antibiotics or other drugs with oral contraceptive birth control pills. Another major reason is the misconception that you ca not get pregnant on your period or that its not your fertile period and feeling that it is safe "just this one time.
