Beginning, I was raised a non-questioning Christian who's ideas were suppressed by the ugliness of "patriotism". I supported war in every form because the United States knew what it was doing. Starting to question my beliefs, I quickly made my way from being a mere agnostic to a full-blown atheist. I finally realized that every life needed to be lived to the fullest. Every person became a life instead of a body. The preciousness for life actually increased with my switch to atheism. Religion teaches the value of obeying God, not the value of living life to the fullest (in my opinion, at least). Along with my conversion, history started to show its ugly head. Most wars do not solve a problem; they quickly fix it. However, that problem doesn't stay solved for long. In fact, a war is fought almost every decade to solve the same petty disagreements that were faced the first war. With this in mind, a look at the beginning of the 20th century chaos is needed.
The war that started international unrest over world politics would be World War II. The problems that started this war stretch way back to before it even took place. The first World War was finished and a policy was reached too quickly. The Versailles treaty let all the World War I involved countries to get back to rebuilding their economies and governments. However, the Versailles treaty reflected the bitterness of the world against Germany due to the reparations they had to pay. Germany shocked everyone by being a good guy for a while, helping Paris and London. This "spirit of Locarno" was a mutual goodwill between France, Britain, Belgium, Italy, and Germany. Germany used this proverbial sheepskin to "pull the wool" over the world's eyes just long enough to rearm. The Versailles treaty provided an important element inside it for a League of Nations. Since the League depended on the United States for a backing army, it found itself weak when the Senate declined a United States entry.
