Mexico Health Care

A major strength of the Mexican system is that their health care system is organized by segments. SSA, IMSS-Sol, and INI provide the public services for uninsured people. The social security institutions, which workers must subscribe to, provide care for the armed forces, and state government employees. Then, there is a private sector that helps people with and without insurance plans. All of these segments make their system seem very organized. Another strength in their system is that their public and private sectors have improved their equipment and technology in recent years. .
On the other hand it also has major weaknesses. Among the segments of healthcare, there is little coordination among providers. Maybe if they would work together more people could be taken care of in an efficient way. Another weakness the system has is that there is no reliable information available for drug expenditures in either the public or the national account systems of the Mexican health foundation. There is no information on their distribution by level of care, nor on equipment that is defective or out of order. How is that possible? .
A factor that has influenced Mexican health care was in 1994 when an economic crisis began. This led to the deflation of the national currency, which created the gross domestic product drop and then a reduction in domestic demand. The total health expenditure steadily fell because of this. .
             .
Another factor that influences the Mexican system began in 1998 when the crisis in Asia began, and the oil prices dropped. This forced the government to yet again cut public spending by 3 billion dollars. .
I like the way this health care system is organized but I don't understand why they can't work together to improve it. I think their system could be more effective if they could monitor everything. This would make it a lot easier for them to see what they need to work on more.
