... came to a head with the Tampa and children overboard crises. My opinion on the topic is not one shared by many people. I am against people arriving in Australia illegally by boat, and for keeping people in so called "detention centers"" until they have been verified as genuine refugees. But the problem is deeper than this. More needs to be done to stop ... the refugees needing to leave their home in the first place. In such places as East Timor and Zimbabwe more needs to be done by the international community to stop quite obvious human rights abuses and unfair and un democratic governm...
