... ." Well, I did get hired, but I was dead wrong on this job being "a piece of cake." My first day of training was that typical nightmare where everything you touched broke and you couldn't make anything go right. Not only did I have to answer phones and use the register, I had to cook food, clean dishes, mop a floor, and restock. This job wasn't what I thought it would be but ... then a whole year. One day my boss pulled me aside and told me that because of my hard work and dedication, he was promoting me to assistant manager. Becoming a manager was like starting a new job all over again....
