Animal farm

"Man is the only creature that consumes with out producing. He does not give milk, he does not lay eggs, he is too weak to pull the plough, he cannot run fast enough to catch rabbits. Yet he is lord of all the animals (Orwell 19)." So who is the real enemy? "Remove man from the scene, and the root cause of hunger and over work is abolished forever (19)." Who does that leave to rule the rest of the farm? Napoleon's rise to power, the changes that he makes to the seven commandments and his selfishness to the rest of the animal farm shows how Orwell felt about the revolutions failing and tyrants changing. .
Napoleon's rise to power shows how Orwell felt about the revolutions failing and tyrants changing. Orwell shows this by making the character, Napoleon, appear to be smart and witty in the beginning. Using him as a role model for the rest of the animals. However, in his rise to power he makes a set of seven commandments, by stealing the idea from snowball. Which is intelligent, but he got it by using a dictatorship, which the animals were trying to get rid of. Basically the animals got rid of one tyrant and put a new one in charge. Orwell even narrates, "The pigs did not actually work, but directed and supervised the others (35)." Because the pigs were supposed to be superior to the other animals. This is obvious in the change of the seven commandments. .
The seven commandments started out to be:.
             1. "Whatever goes upon two legs is an enemy.
             2. Whatever goes upon four legs, or has wings, is a friend.
             3. No animal shall wear clothes.
             4. No animal shall sleep in a bed.
             5. No animal shall drink alcohol.
             6. No animal shall kill any other animal.
             7. All animals are equal (33).".
Napoleon changing the seven commandments shows how Orwell felt about the revolutions failing and tyrants changing. Napoleon changed the commandments to only benefit himself and not the rest of the animal farm. Napoleon changed all of the commandments but one and he changed them so that he could do the stuff on the commandments with out the say from the other animals.
