He started to pick up more pornographic materials and also began to window watch. Emerging from his shy sweet stage, he became dominant, focused, and revengeful. However, he quickly reenrolled and became an honors student in psychology at the University of Washington. .
             Between 1969 and 1972 it looked as if Ted had a more positive outlook .

             on life. He applied to many law schools, and began to do things for the better. Once Stephanie heard about how he had matured, she became more interested and soon they were involved again. Little did she know that this was his revenge, so he hastily broke off the relationship. .
             Soon he became involved with Meg Anders. Meg, divorced with children, thought she was in love. However, Ted was using her as a tool to get back at Stephanie. Meg and Ted's relationship lasted quite some time. .
             By this time the murders had begun. From the stages of pornographic material and window watching he had now progressed to abduction. .
             His first known murder was Katherine Mary Devine. Katherine was a tall, willowy, fifteen year old. She was last seen hitchhiking on November 25, 1973. She was found on December 6 at McKenney Park. Her jeans were slit from crotch to waist, she was sodomized, strangled, and her throat may have been cut.
